CONSTRUCTION

REI's full-service utility engineering background includes a strong resume of construction management and administration projects. From treatment facilities and storage tanks to pipelines and developments, REI engineers and construction managers provide all necessary construction administration services to our clients. Our complete range of services includes:

  1. Contractors Contract Negotiation – Assist in negotiating with the Contractor scope and cost of work for the Contract Document and potential change orders.
  2. Preconstruction Conference – Prepare Agenda and attend preconstruction conference with the Contractor. Prepare and submit meeting minutes following the conference.
  3. Design Clarification Responses – Provide technical interpretation of the drawings, specifications, and Contract Documents, and evaluate requested deviation from the approved design or specification, and issue field orders as necessary.
  4. Shop Drawing Review – Review shop drawings and other data that the Contractor is required to submit. These are reviewed for general conformance with the design concept of the projects and general compliance with the information given in the Contract Documents.
  5. RFI Responses – Review and respond to requests for information (RFI) from the Contractor.
  6. Pay Request Review – Review, recommend and submit to the client for payment the monthly pay request from the Contractor.
  7. Site Visits/Resident Engineer – Make periodic site visits or provide daily site oversight to observe the progress and quality of the work and to determine, in general, if the work is proceeding in accordance with the intent of the Contract Documents. Make additional site visits, as needed for both substantial and for final completion for the project.
  8. As-Builts – Prepare record drawings by transcribing information provided by the Contractor.
  9. Certificate of Completion – REI prepares FDEP certificate of completion of construction and submit to FDEP for approval.
  10. Project Close-out – Make final review of construction to determine if work was completed in general conformance of the Contract Documents. Assist in negotiating the final payment for construction and submit a final letter report upon which final settlement and termination of Contract can be based.
  11. Operation and Maintenance (O&M) Manuals – Prepare and submit O&M Manual. The O&M manual will include master list of spare parts as well as original warranties.
